ICCW continues with efforts to document crimes committed during the war

Even last week, ICCW continues with the efforts to document the crimes committed during the war, holding a series of important meetings in several regions of the country.

1. Kaçanik: We visited the family of Ismail Raka, killed on November 29, 1994. His wife, Mrs. Xhemile Raka, submitted photographs, a book and a CD, sharing with us memories and testimonies.

2. Gjakova: We met with Medica Gjakova and director Mirlinda Sada to explore the possibilities of cooperation in documenting tragic events and addressing the violence of war.

3. Rahovec: We collected documentation on the Celina massacre of 1999, where an eyewitness shared photographs and testimonies of 82 civilians killed by Serbian paramilitary forces. Among the victims were Alma Bajram Zeqiri, only 2 years old, and 20 members of the Zeqiri and Salihu families.

4. Gjilan: Lawyer Masar Morina submitted important files related to the report sent to The Hague on the crimes committed during the war in the Municipality of Gjilan.

These activities prove our commitment to document the historical truth. Every testimony collected strengthens our commitment to collective memory and to ensuring justice for the victims of war crimes.
